The greenback

The Weaponized Dollar

The dollar glints, a gilded snare,
Its power stretching everywhere.
From bustling streets to foreign shores,
It whispers deals, it opens doors.

But wielded sharp, it cuts too deep,
A tyrant’s leash, a debt to keep.
A tool to build, a blade to bind,
Its shadow looms in hearts and minds.

In fragile lands, it plants its seed,
A promise wrapped in quiet greed.
Loans that chain, aid that blinds,
A velvet chokehold, ties that bind.

Its value sways, a cunning game,
Eclipsing currencies by name.
Empires rise, their rivals fall,
Beneath the dollar’s chilling thrall.

It fuels the wars, it draws the lines,
Defines what’s theirs, reclaims what’s “mine.”
A weapon cloaked in bright disguise,
A gentle voice that stifles cries.

Oh, dollar, symbol of the free,
Your chains encircle land and sea.
What hands can grasp, what hearts can hold,
A weapon forged of paper gold?

May we unmask the veiled control,
And seek a world where peace is whole.
For wealth should heal, not tear apart—
True power lies in human heart.

Empires Rise and Fall

In the cradle of dawn, where the earth meets the sky,
Empires are born with a conqueror's cry.
Raised on ambition, their banners unfold,
Spun from the dreams of the bold.

Brick upon brick, their cities arise,
Towers that gleam, reaching for skies.
Echoes of triumph resound through the years,
Built on foundations of blood, sweat, and tears.

Yet time, the great equalizer, sways,
Turning to ash the brightest of days.
For power is fleeting, and pride breeds its doom,
Empires must reckon the weight of their bloom.

The sands of the desert, the waves on the shore,
Whisper of kingdoms that stand no more.
Names that were mighty, now silent and small—
Empires, like stars, must rise and fall.

But within their ruins, a lesson is sung,
Of legacies left for the old and the young.
The glory of power is not built to last,
Yet wisdom endures from the echoes of past.

So let us remember, in our fleeting grace,
No throne is eternal, no single race.
Empires may crumble, their ashes may sprawl,
But the spirit of humanity rises through all.

Don’t Be Naive: We Need to Keep Our Guns

Oh, don’t be naive, we need our guns,
For safety, for freedom, for weekend fun.
A bulwark of rights, a patriotic hymn,
Though the schools grow silent and the lights grow dim.

It’s not the guns, it’s the hands that hold,
Or so the story’s repeatedly told.
We’ll blame the troubled, the sick, the deranged,
But the tools of destruction? They’ll never be changed.

A badge of honor, a symbol of pride,
While mothers weep and nations divide.
Armed to the teeth, the brave and the free,
In grocery aisles, under classroom trees.

Oh, what’s a life in the land of the brave,
But a fleeting spark we’re not meant to save?
We arm ourselves against unseen foes,
While neighbors fall, and the toll just grows.

But don’t you worry, it’s all worth the cost,
Each shattered dream, each loved one lost.
For liberty’s price is a deadly game,
Where no one remembers the victims’ names.

So hail the amendment, so timeless, so true,
And polish that barrel till it gleams anew.
For what’s a solution when you’re already right?
Let the irony echo through the long, dark night.

American exceptionalism

Oh, beacon of light, the best of all nations,
With golden arches and TV sensations.
We’re number one, at least we decree,
Except in math, healthcare, and literacy.

Our history’s flawless, no shadows in sight,
Just tales of freedom and manifest right.
The melting pot bubbles, all cultures embraced,
Unless they’re too foreign or slightly misplaced.

Our healthcare’s a marvel, a system supreme,
Where bankruptcies flourish in the American Dream.
Got a cold or a cough? Don't you fret,
Just sell your car and cover the debt.

Our leaders are noble, our systems pristine,
With lobbies and PACs that keep it all clean.
Democracy’s sacred, elections are fair—
If you can ignore the gerrymandered flair.

Our food’s an art form, our diet unique,
Corn syrup coursing through every physique.
Fast food nirvana, obesity’s cheer,
But hey, we’re exceptional—pass me a beer!

Yes, the world envies our unchecked ambition,
Our wars for oil, our noble mission.
To spread our way, the American plight,
With drones and sanctions, we bring the light.

So hail to the stars, the stripes so grand,
The freest, bestest, most glorious land.
But if you question, just leave, take a flight,
Because we’re exceptional, and we’re always right.

Globalization

Globalization

Threads of trade and tales we spin,

Across the globe, we weave and twin.

Voices echo, distant lands,

Bound together, unseen hands.

Markets roar and cultures blend,

Ancient songs with new ones mend.

Borders fade and bridges rise,

Dreams connect beneath shared skies.

Spices from the East unfold,

Met by Western tales retold.

Hands of makers, hands of need,

Join in commerce, join in creed.

Yet within this merging sphere,

Echoes of a doubt and fear.

Languages lost, roots entwined,

What of heritage left behind?

With the promise comes a cost,

Some gain power, others lost.

Balance tips and values sway,

Who decides the fairer way?

But as rivers seek the sea,

So do we, collectively.

Seeking futures, hopes combined,

Global hearts and global minds.

So let’s walk this path aware,

Share the wealth, the love, the care.

Globalization’s dawn may start,

But wisdom steers it from the heart.
